On Monday, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss can’t back out of a settlement deal they reached with Facebook, according to a report from USA Today.
The brothers — known as the “Winklevi” from the popular movie The Social Network — claimed that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg stole their idea for a social networking site.
In 2008, the brothers agreed to settle their claims, but hoped to overturn the settlement because of the increasing value of Facebook, according to the report.
In 2009, the Winklevoss reached the deal that gave them $20 million in cash and $45 million in stock, valued at $36 per share.
